About Me

Jorge Amodio: I've been doing digital electronics, computer science and large scale networking for quite a time. I had the privilege to establish the first Internet connection for Argentina and being part of an enthusiast group of geeks that promoted and develop the first academic and commercial networks. I was the technical administrator (hostmaster in the old days) for the Argentinean .AR country code top level domain name.

I joined Vint Cerf and many others in the early 90's for the creation of the Internet Society and later its Argentinean Chapter for which I was founder and first president.

I worked in the private and public sector, including international organizations such as UNDP and OAS, in the late 90's I took over engineering and operations of what was left over JVNCNet (one of the original NSFNet regional networks) that it became part of VERIO and later VERIO/NTT.

For the past few years I've been doing "Internet of Things" research and development basically using microcontroller embedded applications including TCP/IP, graphical user interfaces and smart sensors.

When I've spare time I make some noise in one of the ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) stakeholder groups, the NCSG (Non Commercial Stakeholder Group), and on IETF, NANOG and other forums.

My interests are in first place my Family, then digital electronics, microprocessor and microcontrollers, networking, cloud computing, data communications, and many other subjects related to Internet of Things.

I like New Age, smooth, modern and classic jazz music but I'll listen to everything.

I don't waste too much time watching TV and always miss the Big Bang Theory episodes. Bazinga !!!
